I’m a modern day ‘Mudlark’
I search for beautiful pieces of broken pottery, little pieces of history, tumbled by the river for over 100 years. I am fascinated with how these tiny fragments made their way into the river and the journey they have been on. Cracked and faded, their edges worn smooth from their watery passage, a mere remnant of what once was. Who last held them in their former, utilitarian life, before I plucked them from the depths?
My work aims to take these jewels and turn them into something beautiful and unique.
After winning a place in Country Living Magazine’s ‘ Kitchen Table Talent ‘ competition, I showcased my handcrafted, mosaic initials at their Spring Fair at the Business Design Centre in London. They were greatly received and since then I have increased my range to include framed names and words, Hearts, Angels, Dragonflies, Butterflies and Bees.
I also undertake larger, individual commissions and would be happy to discuss requirements with you for a bespoke piece.
My work lends itself perfectly to many different occasions and decor. From nurseries and children’s rooms to more grown up interiors, they look beautiful hung singularly or in groups, or propped on a shelf. They make a perfect and thought provoking gift, either for yourself or a loved one.
Each piece is made to order and is therefore completely unique.
